Unintentional Fashionista

Let's be honest, 9 days out of 10, I'm wearing super comfy, unrestrictive, cozy clothing (read: Lulu)...I'm really not in-the-know when it comes to fashion.  Over the weekend, we attended a friend's 30th birthday and the theme was 80's...now THAT, I could handle!  Spandex, legwarmers, headbands, lots of colour...that's where I'd like to be, people.  Well,  I was there, but didn't really appreciate the awesome-ness of eighties fashion from the ages of 2-12.
J dresses better than me.  I can openly admit that...but in this case, her fashion prowess really happened to be, um, quite by accident...but she ROCKED it!
This was one of the first collections I purchased when I started scrapbooking...Perfectly Posh, by Imaginisce.  I knew that having a baby girl would require adding these types of collections to my stash, but I didn't realize that I'd get to use it before she was two!
I had a lot of fun making the border on this page.  I cut out each little square from a patterned piece of paper from the collection, inked the edges with my trusty Martha Stewart inks and attached them with either tab adhesives (flat) or foam adhesives (for a bit of dimension).  I sewed on what seemed like THOUSANDS of buttons (Basic Grey mostly) and added some pearls (dollar store).
American Crafts Remarks make up the first part of the title, and, my favourite, THICKERS <3 make up the last part.  Those purses and necklace are actually rub-ons, but I put them onto card stock first (except for the necklace) and then cut them out to make them jump off the page a bit...then "hung" them from the same little pearls used in the border.  And the little shoes...such cute little rub-ons!
A little stitching around the papers behind the photos finished off this page.

Man, that kid is CUTE!  ;)
